how was everyone's week? i am GLAD its friday!

to make this blog more useful to you, each friday i will post the "top 10 job opportunities of the week". these will be jobs geared towards the creative arts community and most will be freelance or contract work, unless otherwise specified. please pass on this blog to producers, directors, designers, photographers, models, actors, musicians, etc......anyone you think could benefit from this information.

it is my aim to put the best information all in one place so you don't have to scour through the internet for hours. if you have seen or know of any that i haven't mentioned, feel free to post them by placing a comment. afterall, its all about helping each other and build a network community, right?

1) Experienced DP with great eye, and extensive film experience needed for feature shooting in 9 days. Writer/Director is USC Film School Grad, has directed several short films that have been in festivals, sold a feature script in November. 2) We are making a 16mm short on oct 7,8,9 (subject to change). We are looking for a cinematographer with a great eye and familiar with 16mm film. Equipment is provided. job-401377415@craigslist.org Compensation: Conract work. Please let me know your rates.

3) We are seeking video and editing professionals in the area of Nashville to take on various projects. Professionals being the key word. When doing contract work for us you represent us and reflect our expertise. Only serious applicants should apply. We are not looking for help from other companies. This is a freelance, contract position for those of you that would like to do that kind of work. Videographers will need the following: * A 3ccd or better camera. ( when you send in your resume and equipment list please list the models of each camera you have. ) * A Wireless lavaliere microphone with receiver and transmitter. * A shotgun microphone available to put on your camera * On cam lighting unit in case you need it indoors. * Tripod * Your own vehicle and drivers license. We do ask that you have experience in shooting and are able to mail in sample work for our review with your resume and cover letter. A media or film/video degree would be helpful but isn't a must. All editing applicants must have the following: * Final Cut Pro, Avid, or Premier ( We do prefer FCP though ) * 2 years experience editing * A degree isn't a must, but helpful. * An external drive * The capability to make full color labels ( laser or print ) * The capability to capture ( you must own something like a deck or a camera in which you can use to capture at home with.) * The capability to create menu systems with chapter marks. * Of course, a good computer system of your own that you edit on. Aside from your normal reel we would like to also have an example of your audio quality. 4) I am looking for a makeup artist for 2 - 3 day shoot. Looking for someone who can make an alien face for a sci-fi comedy short. The shooting days are Oct 7 - 10 but are subject to change. 6) VIMBY (Video In My BackYard) is a new video content network is seeking independent Preditors (producer, shooter, editor) to create original segments for broadcast on the web. And we want you to join our team, become a part of the VIMBY nation. We are seeking content from all over the nation, with an emphasis on the local lifestyle, whatever is going on in your backyard. We want content that is hip, creative, and relevant to young people.
The ideal applicants must have access to equipment and be able to produce, shoot, and edit complete pieces with a quick turnaround. All content will be focused on the following genres: Action Sports: Skating, surfing, snow, motocross, water sports, black top basketball, etc.
Music: the hottest new acts, coolest venues, and best events in your area. Cars: the people and the autos that dominate the import tuner, muscle car, drifting, and off road scenes. Nightlife: the newest and most exciting restaurants, bars, lounges, and clubs in your city Life: fashion, news, entertainment, shopping, and lifestyle.
You are welcome to produce content for more than one genre, but if you have a knowledge or passion for a particular genre, please let us know. We want to know how well you are connected to these local subcultures, so tell us a little bit about yourself. Knowledge of these local communities is as important as knowledge of filmmaking. Based on the quality and substance of the content, we will pay between $500-$700 for a completed segment. All segments should be between 3-5 minutes. Hopefully, we can form an ongoing and permanent relationship. 7) National department store is seeking models both male and female to appear in fall ads ages 6-30 years all ethnicities and experience levels. Beginners encouraged to apply. 9) We're shooting a feature film in Portland and the script calls for a VH1-ish or MTV-ish video to be on the TV during a girls' slumber party. We want something professional, no grunge, but something that'd be seen late night/early morning. This is a chance to showcase your band. We're aiming for the film-festival market with an eventual (2008) theatrical release. You will most certainly receive credit (along the typical "performed by", etc.). We only need about a 30 second video clip. This is a low-budget feature so don't expect a million-dollar deal but could get you some exposure and will certainly be a cool credit to add to your band's resume. Please note this is a PG/PG-13 film. Family friendly-- i.e. no swearing, no overtly sexual content, and so forth. Please send the LYRICS of your song in response to this ad.
